Mattern & Craig Prepares For The Future

As we all know, children are our future. They will be the ones who will build up and improve this world so, introducing them to a wide variety of career paths is essential when they are young.  Jason Carder was invited to speak to a group of students at Andrew Jackson Elementary (Kingsport, TN) for Engineers Week.

Jason gave a presentation to multiple groups of 3rd through 5th graders (about 100 students total), describing what engineers do, giving some examples of local projects, and what his typical day is like.  For example, there is so much more to creating/designing a road that functions well than we think about.

Later, Jason received a package of hand-written thank-you notes from some of the kids.  According to one of the letters (see below) we can look forward to a new generation of Civil Engineers.
