Indian Gap Run Channelization Project
Buena Vista,
Virginia

Provided surveying, preparation of a preliminary engineering report, design, permitting, and construction management services for the construction of a 2,500 LF concrete lined channel which replaced the existing deteriorating urban channel, and the replacement of three (3) existing under-capacity culverts with new three-sided precast concrete bridges. The work of the project included obtaining an Individual Virginia Water Protection Permit, and a U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Individual Permit (Section 404-Clean Water Act). Performed hydrologic and hydraulic studies to design the typical channel section and to determine flooding frequency and depth of flow for various return year storms. Project was jointly funded by City of Buena Vista and the Commonwealth of Virginia (through the Department of Housing and Community Development).

Peters Creek Flood Protection
Roanoke, Virginia

Aerial mapping, field surveys and modeling of 3 miles of urban creek using TR-20 and HEC-2 to design facilities to reduce flooding including clearing, channelization, culvert replacement and 3 large detention basins, construction stakeout and administration.

Further services included survey, construction layout, design calculations, construction plans and specification plats for two large (23' high by 100 ft wide - 40 acre foot pond) stormwater detention basins with spillways for ½ PMF. Permits, construction administration.

Veterans Administration Medical Center Cemetery Drainage
Mountain Home National Cemetery
Johnson City, Tennessee

Preliminary Engineering Report for analysis of urban drainage sheds using TR-20 SCS computer model, analyzing five alternative solutions to problems for 25 and 50 year storms. Final Design plans and specifications for 250,000 of storm water management pond, approximately 525 LF of 24" and 3,500 LF of 54" RCP.
